NSPCC Colour Run Event

Get ready to experience a burst of colour and laughter as we come together for the happiest 4K on the planet at the JCB x NSPCC Colour Run!

This exciting event will take place on Saturday 14th September at Uttoxeter Racecourse and is open to all the family (recommended for over 5’s), run, jog or walk your way through the 4k (2.5 miles) course whilst being showered with a vibrant array of colours at our colour stations. Each station will douse you in a different colour, creating a mesmerizing rainbow effect as you cross the finish line!

But it's not just about the run - it's about making a difference. By participating in the event, you'll be supporting the latest JCB x NSPCC appeal which aims to raise £2 million over a two-year period. 

All runners will receive sunglasses and a white t-shirt for you to wear during the event, plus a packet of paint powder.

  • 1. The following terms and conditions are intended to help J C Bamford Excavators Limited (“JCB”) organise the JCB X NSPCC Colour Run on Saturday 14 September 2024 at Uttoxeter Racecourse (the “Event”) and to ensure the safety of all the Event’s participants.
  •  

REGISTRATION 

  • 2. Participants must submit an official registration form with the correct registration fee. All registration fees, funds donated or raised in sponsorship go to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (registered charity no. 216401) (“NSPCC”) .
  • 3. Registration for the Event is open to anyone over 5 years of age, however anyone under 16 years will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult, who are also required to be registered for the Event.
  • 4. Transfer of places is not permitted. If you are unable to attend the Event after registering, please email jcbcolourrun@jcb.com.
  • 5. Participant packs will include a white t-shirt, fun sunglasses and a packet of powder paint. Please be advised that these will be available for you to collect on the day of the Event.

EVENT DETAILS 

  • 6. The event will start at 10am with an estimated finish time of 4pm. We reserve the right to impose a cut off time, to allow the site to be cleared of participants, equipment and litter before the site is closed.
  • 7. The course is approximately 4km (2.5 miles) long, however please note that that the final distance may vary.
  • 8. The Event is not a timed event. Participants can run, walk or dance their way round the course.
  • 9. The Event will be controlled by a number of marshals. For your safety and that of other participants and the spectators, please abide by any instructions issued by the marshals.
  • 10. Should alterations to the planned activity be necessary to ensure safety of our participants, we will give prior notice either before the event or on arrival to the Event of any alterations made.
  • 11. Should a decision be deemed necessary to postpone or cancel the Event, JCB will provide further information to participants to offer an alternative date or registration refund options. JCB shall not be liable for reimbursing the cost of travel or accommodation arrangements made by participants.
  • 12. Participants are encouraged to look out for updates via jcb.com/jcbcolourrun
  • 13. By taking part, all participants confirm that they are happy for their names and any footage or photographs taken during the event to be used to publicise or report on the Event generally. Should special dispensation be required, it is the responsibility of the participants to inform JCB of such requirements.
  • 14. We recognise family and friends may wish to photograph the Event, however if you are an unofficial professional or commercial photographer and plan on taking multiple photographs of participants who are not personally known to you, please contact us prior to the event to obtain permission and a full briefing. In order to ensure the safety and privacy of our participants, JCB reserves the right to ask any person taking photographs to refrain from doing so.

YOUR SAFETY 

  • 15. For your safety and enjoyment of the Event, we ask that you follow and adhere to the instructions given by the Event organisers and Event marshals.
  • 16. The Event involves a level of sustained physical activity. Participants make the decision to take part and must be satisfied that this activity is suitable for them as individuals. Neither JCB nor its affiliates can be held accountable for aggravation to illness or injury sustained due to participation in this activity. Participants are recommended to seek advice from their medical practitioner prior to taking part in this Event and make provisions to ensure their safe participation. First Aid assistance will be available during the Event.
  • 17. We strongly advise that all participants wear appropriate footwear to ensure their safe and enjoyable participation. 
  • 18. Participants are asked to come equipped with whatever necessary clothing, medication and nourishment is required to enable enjoyable and safe participation in the Event.

POWDERED PAINT 

  • 19. The ‘paint’ is actually made from corn starch, dyes and food-grade colouring.
  • 20. This product is meant to be thrown directly onto the body avoiding the face. If anyone is seen to be throwing paint intentionally towards a participants face, or throwing paint at another participant/volunteer against their wishes, that person will be given a warning and asked not to do so. If this becomes a repeated occurrence the participant will be asked to leave the Event.
  • 21. Please see the following symptoms and effects the paint may cause. JCB is not liable for any adverse effects.
  • 22. Ingestion: This is not allowed, however if this does occur the participant should drink plenty of water.
  • 23. Inhalation: If paint is inhaled, the participant should remove themselves from the area into fresh air. Participants with asthma or any other respiratory conditions are asked to strongly consider if this event is suitable for them to take part in. If you are concerned, but wish to take part, use a bandana or dust mask to cover your mouth.
  • 24. Skin Contact: The paint may cause temporary stain on the skin. This will wash off with soap and water.
  • 25. Eyes: If paint should come into contact with the eyes, participants should flush eyes with plenty of water. Participants who wear contact lenses are recommended to exercise extra caution. JCB recommends that eye protection is worn.
  • 26. JCB suggests that participants should wear old clothing. JCB is not responsible for the staining of clothing.
  • 27. JCB also suggest that your transport is protected from the paint powder. For example covering car seats in plastic to avoid participant’s car from becoming covered in powder paint.
  • 28. JCB requests that participants avoid throwing paint close to vehicles and technical equipment.
  • 29. Event participants bring mobile phones and other technical equipment at their own risk. JCB cannot take responsibility for any damage to participant’s personal items.

SPECTATORS 

  • 30. We welcome family and friends to support participants however, powdered paint will travel and you may end up leaving wearing a little bit more colour than you’d planned. Please choose your clothing and spectator spot carefully.
