JCB customer Rocket Rentals is keeping down costs with its latest machine purchases - thanks to JCB's innovative engine solutions which requires no DPF.
The Gloucestershire plant hirer has bought 30 new JCB models from dealer Holt JCB and has praised the cost savings and reduced customer downtime being achieved because of the lack of a DPF.
With this deal – worth more than £1.5million - Dursley-based Rocket Rentals has become one of the first nationwide customers of JCB’s new 6-metre telescopic handler, purchasing four of the JCB Diesel by Kohler powered JCB Loadall 525-60 Hi-Viz models.
This means there is no requirement for a diesel particulate filter or an SCR system to meet the emissions regulations on the 525-60 - delivering a service-free emissions control system, which reduces operating costs and complexity for customers.
Other new additions to the fleet include: the brand new 6-tonne JCB site dumper models, JS220 and JS130 tracked excavators, the 86C-1 midi excavators and 535-95 Loadall telescopic handlers. All have JCB or JCB Diesel by Kohler engines requiring no DPF.
Rocket Rentals Managing Director, Simon Tomblin said: “No regeneration, no refurbishments and no replacement DPFs saves us money and saves downtime for our customers. JCB achieving emissions compliance without a DPF on many of its machines is therefore a significant driver for us.
“We are also very impressed with the brand new 525-60 telehandler as its compact dimensions are extremely useful and the visibility is excellent - which is a real bonus on increasingly confined sites. The site dumpers are also a great addition to the fleet, bringing JCB quality and backup to a new product offering. The support from Holt JCB continues to be a crucial reason why we keep choosing JCB.
“The new 6 to 10-tonne excavators look fantastic machines, the compaction equipment specification stands out clearly from the competition on longevity and efficiency while every one we speak to tells us the JS220 is the best machine in its class.
“The LiveLink telematics system is another bonus with JCB. We really maximise all its features and it proves an excellent fleet management tool - both in terms of monitoring machine performance and service requirements but also ensuring our equipment is where is should be at all times!”
