A JCB 3C backhoe loader is carrying out dramatic mountainside road repairs on a dilapidated stretch of highway in the Venezuelan Andes.
The JCB machine is one of six JCB 3C backhoe loaders recently purchased by civil engineering firm Construcciones y Asfalto Andes C.A. which specialises in road construction and asphalt work. They join a JC330 tracked excavator and a JCB 456ZX wheeled loading shovel in the fleet.
One of the 3C models is working alongside the brand new JS330 on a major road repair project. The machines are operating on the edge of a steep valley, reinstating eroded sections of a 40km stretch of the Carretera Nacional Meridas Barinas Troncal 1 highway that runs from Apartaderos in Merida state to La Raya on the border of Barinas state.
All the machines were supplied by JCB’s Venezuelan dealer - Meta – which is based in the capital city, Caracas. Construcciones y Asfalto Andes is one of Meta’s leading customers with a relationship dating back to 1990.
