YOUNG FOOTBALLERS IN LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN THANKS TO JCB SUPPORT
A Uttoxeter youth football team is aiming to be on the ball when it joins its first competitive league later this year, thanks to a £750 donation for new kit from JCB.
Uttoxeter Under 6s, who train at Oldfields School and play friendlies each Sunday at Shobnall, will join the Burton Junior Football League in September sporting their first branded strip and hoodies.
And the team, which is part of Uttoxeter Juniors, is hoping for a successful first season after being invited to training sessions at both Premier League Aston Villa FC and League One’s Derby County FC in recent months.
The donation from JCB means we have been able to buy the lads new kit and hoodies and it’s great to see them now feeling like they are part of a real team. A lot of them have older brothers and have grown up watching from the sidelines, so it’s great so see them proudly wearing their first kit with the spotlight now on them.

“We are incredibly grateful to JCB for supporting both our team and Uttoxeter Juniors over the years. This generous donation allows the kids to feel part of something more professional and they certainly wear it with pride every time they pull their shirts on. The lads are training hard in the run up to joining their first league and they have been lucky enough to be invited to training days at Derby County and Aston Villa recently, where both their shirts and performances caught the eye!”
The team is keen to welcome any new players and anyone interested in joining Uttoxeter Under 6s can find out more by messaging the Uttoxeter Juniors Facebook page.
