Harkmac selected JCB’s 140X tracked excavator model. Chosen specifically for drainage and foundation work, the new addition to the fleet has immediately excelled on a new-build residential development in Coventry.

The 140X is a 360 excavator aimed squarely at groundworking specialists bringing greater levels of strength, durability, comfort, ease of use, reliability, efficiency, productivity and serviceability.

Powered by the 81kW (108hp), Stage V 4.8-litre JCB DieselMax 448 engine it delivers 516Nm of torque. It is equipped with a new Selective Catalytic Reduction Filter (SCR-F) that comprises a combined SCR, DPF and DOC with a large soot holding capacity. There is no longer a requirement for Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and the system has been removed from the new inlet manifold, resulting in a cleaner burning engine. 

The JCB X Series hydraulic system delivers speed and controllability, with the 140X now featuring automatic engine shutdown, to reduce fuel consumption and emissions when the excavator is not in use.
