Ultimate comfort for full-shift operators
Our new wheel loader cab provides even more comfort than ever before with the ultimate protection from the elements with the pre-heated options. So that the weather and external materials can stay firmly outside the cab while your operators stay warm and dry inside.
As well as this, the ergonomic design of the cab and user-friendly controls make the experience of operating the 403E seamless, intuitive, and comfortable. Meaning they can keep on working, whatever’s going on outside, with ease. Maximising productivity, efficiency and operator satisfaction.
Winter ready: Pre-heating function and heated seats
The new 403E cab comes with cab pre-conditioning. This is a time-based system that means the cab can be pre-heated whilst the machine is being charged. (Though note that this feature will only function when the machine is on-charge, and the battery level is above 25%.)
To use the pre-conditioning feature, the operator uses the rotary dial and the main digital display in front of the steering wheel to set the pre-conditioning time. Once the time is set to when the operator wishes to start their day’s work, e.g., 7:30am, the heater will automatically activate for 30 minutes prior and de-activate 15 minutes after this set time. This means that the operator can start their day, promptly, with a warm and comfortable heated cab and a fully charged battery. Minimising any time that would have otherwise been spent setting up in the morning.
Additionally, each of the 403E’s new equipment cabs comes with a heated seat, which provides contact heating for the operator in cold weather. Not only does this maximise the comfort of the cab but it reduces the need for the operator to use the main heater, thereby prolonging the battery run time.
These heated features are of benefit to any fleet using the JCB 403E wheel loader during various weather and site conditions. But they are particularly advantageous for agricultural workers, who need to maximise machine usage during winter months.
Unstoppable in any weather: The JCB 403E Cab’s all-weather shield
But there’s more in the 403E cab’s heat department to protect and enable operators to continue working in harsh weather conditions. For instance, careful consideration has been given to the choice of heater used in the 403E Electric Cab.
The heater provides three temperature levels, giving the operator high controllability of their user environment and energy usage. If the operator requires increase heat, then there is a boost function switch that the operator can press. This will provide a blast of hot air from the 2.2kW PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) heater to rapidly increase the temperature within the cab for 10 minutes. The switch will then automatically disengage after this time to conserve energy.
Though, this isn’t the only energy-saving feature, as the heater functionality is also automatically disabled when either of the doors are open. This ensures no energy is wasted when the operator leaves the door open to complete jobs outside the machine. However, should they require extra cooling during the summer months when the doors open, the blower remains functional.
As a result, this robust cab effectively shields operators against rain, wind, snow and excessively high or low temperatures. Keeping them both safe and comfortable.
Safety and quiet operation: Low noise and heated windscreen
Of course, an enclosed cab that provides this much security from outside elements and also lets less external noise in than ever before. So that your operators can enjoy a quiet and peaceful working environment, whatever’s going on outside the cab.
Additionally, heated front and rear windscreens have been added. These not only help to defrost the cab in cold conditions but help with demisting during wet weather. For example, if the operator climb into the cab with a wet jacket causing the windows to steam up. This effective method of demisting the screens means that less heat from the heater is required. Again, prolonging the battery life and run time of the machine. However, this feature also promotes operator safety, with superior, unrestricted visibility during operation.
