Longstanding customer Tru7 Group has invested in a fleet of 20 JCB 140X tracked excavators.

Embracing the JCB 140X

Guy Nicholls | CEO and owner of Tru7 Group

“Our family has a long history of buying JCB machinery, especially its telescopic handlers. One of our previous businesses operated by far the largest fleet in Europe and probably the world at the time.”

The JCB 140X tracked excavator was highly recommended to the Nicholls family, prompting their interest. Guy continues, “We kept hearing how good the JCB 140X model was and we thought it was time we tried some. So we ordered 20 to test out within our operations. They will be operating on general construction and housebuilding sites as well as working on high-profile energy contracts across the UK.”

The Perfect Match

The JCB 140X tracked excavators have quickly proven their worth within Tru7 Group’s operations.

The partnership with JCB has been strengthened further by the support from their local dealer, Watling JCB. Guy praises the relationship: “For many years we have been fortunate to have Watling JCB as our dealer. It is, without doubt, an outstanding company from the top down and the team really are a pleasure to deal with.”

The JCB 140X is engineered for exceptional strength and durability, tested rigorously to ensure it withstands the most challenging conditions. It has undergone 15,000 hours of tracking and vibration tests, 30,000 window and door operation tests, and extreme climate testing from 55°C to -30°C. The JCB 140X is powered by the robust Dieselmax engine, tested over 110,000 hours in various demanding environments, ensuring unparalleled reliability.

Operator comfort is paramount in the JCB 140X which features the spacious CommandPlus cab equipped with an industry-leading Grammer seat. The double-cushioned viscous mounts reduce in-cab noise to 67dB(A), creating a quieter and more comfortable working environment. The cab also includes a powerful HVAC system with 11 vents, ensuring optimal temperature control in any climate.

The JCB 140X is designed for superior performance with large diameter hydraulic pipes and hoses that enhance productivity and efficiency. The innovative hydraulic regeneration system recycles oil across the cylinders, improving fuel efficiency with auto-stop and auto-idle features saving up to 5% on fuel. The larger bucket cylinder increases bucket tear-out by 11%, providing greater digging force and efficiency on the job site.
