The Lady Bamford Charitable Trust was launched in 2000, established under the Indian Trusts Act,
with a commitment to working in partnership with the government and local communities in the
hinterland of the JCB Group factories in Ballabhgarh, Pune, Jaipur and Vadodara (Halol). Working
with three clear objectives that can be called the “3E”s - Education, Employable Skills and at the cross
cutting, supporting Engagement with the Community.
Since its launch, The Lady Bamford Charitable Trust has supported the quality of education within schools; provided skills and training to help prepare pupils for life after school; helped women and young men from developing communities learn traditional crafts to provide valuable employment; set up self-help groups within rural communities to give women greater financial literacy and autonomy and helped build roads, sanitation units, water pipelines and providing medical facilities.
