JCB’s compact 1CXT backhoe loader and sub-compact 504-13 telescopic hander have been named among the winners in Compact Equipment magazine’s 2019 Innovative Iron Awards.

Launched in October 2019, the JCB 1CXT delivers backhoe loader capability and versatility to job sites that are too small for a conventional machine. At less than 6 ft wide and 12 ft long, the ICXT is JCB’s smallest backhoe loader and is 60 percent smaller than a full-size machine, yet it delivers impressive performance with loader bucket breakout force up to 5,180 lbf and dig depth to 10 ft, 1 in. And as the only tracked backhoe loader available in North America, the 1CXT delivers superior climbing capability, pushing power, stability and soft ground performance. With a transport weight under 9,600 lb, the 1CXT can be towed between job sites without a CDL (subject to local regulations). The JCB 504-13 Loadall subcompact telescopic handler was launched in March 2019 to meet the growing demand for telehandlers in the sub-6,000 lb category. With a 4,000 lb lift capacity and maximum lift height of 13 feet 3 inches, the new JCB 504-13 telehandler is well suited to maintenance applications, job site clean-up and material handling within confined worksites. The 504-13 Loadall features a new 39 hp Perkins Tier 4 Final-compliant diesel engine, 500-hour extended service intervals and simplified maintenance procedures, hydrostatic transmission, permanent 4-wheel steering and all-steel bodywork. “The Innovative Iron Awards are a great recognition for JCB’s uniquely capable construction machines, but ultimately it’s JCB customers who win,” said Ashby Graham, general manager of product at JCB North America. “With capabilities that exceed conventional machines, JCB operators can perform a wider variety of tasks to achieve greater productivity and profitability.”
